The Women's Health Physiotherapy Research Center (NEFISM) is a research group at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), certified by the CNPq Research Groups Directory, dedicated to developing research, teaching, and extension activities in the field of women's health physiotherapy.
The group conducts studies focusing on the pregnancy–postpartum cycle, physical activity and sedentary behavior during pregnancy, pain and functionality during pregnancy and the postpartum period, pelvic floor dysfunctions, as well as methodological studies involving cross-cultural adaptation and validation of assessment instruments.
NEFISM brings together faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral and master's students, and undergraduate research fellows. The group develops clinical trials, observational studies, systematic reviews, and methodological studies, while maintaining national and international scientific collaborations.

Infrastructure: NEFISM shares a 70 m² physical space consisting of rooms dedicated to assessment and treatment procedures used for research data collection, as well as a room for interviews and scientific meetings used by researchers and students. The center is equipped with electrotherapy devices, including TENS units, laser therapy equipment, pelvic models, pelvic floor muscle training devices, and other resources.
