Shoulder Complex Evaluation and Intervention Laboratory

The group is the leader in the country in producing knowledge related to the evaluation and treatment of shoulder complex disorders. The lab collaborates with important international researchers from the USA, Belgium, England, and New Zealand. Collaboration with international groups has resulted in scientific publications in international journals with high impact factors and exchange of researchers and students between laboratories. Research projects and scholarships are funded by FAPESP, CAPES, and CNPq.

Infrastructure: the lab is equipped with an electromagnetic tracking system (TrakSTARTM) for capturing and analyzing 3D kinematic data integrated with MotionMonitor™ software (Innovative Sports Training, Inc. Chicago, IL), Delsys Trigno electromyography systems with eight channels, and other equipment, such as Cervical Range of Motion, digital inclinometer (Acumar ™, Lafayette Intrument Company, Lafayette, IN), hand-held dynamometer (Lafayette Instrument Company, Lafayette, IN, USA), and digital pressure algometer (ITO brand – Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation, OE-220, Japan).
